I was driving down Denver's East Colfax Avenue one Sunday Morning. Colfax is one of those streets where the unusual isn't the unexpected. This time I did see something that made me take a u-turn. This is the city. It isn't every Sunday morning that you see a rider on a horse leading a pack horse down the sidewalk. I had to get some photos and the story.
Meet Robin McGee, Della's Pistol and Apollo. They are heading to Washinton D.C..
Robin has been riding since she was 14 years old. In 1982 she made a ride from Pennsylvania to Texas with one horse. This time she will ride Della's Pistol with Apollo packing her gear. She plans on averaging twenty miles a day and camping or staying with friends along the way. After reaching Washinton D.C., they will head to their new home in Virginia.
